BRIEF BIO

​

As a Strength & Conditioning (S&C) coach, I coached elite athletes from Singapore when I worked in the Singapore Sports Council (2001 - 2004), which was the former HPSI. Then, I was a freelance S&C and netball coach, writer, speaker, and adjunct lecturer, while pursuing my master degree. I started SWEAT! in 2011, and I have more than 30 years of coaching experience in netball. Besides the above coaching, I also branched out and acquired Health Coaching, Fitness Nutrition, and Dartfish certifications and some other certifications.

I love being an athlete. I played A LOT of sports in school, and of course netball was the main one. I represented Singapore in Netball for many years and in my university days, I represented my school in JV basketball, softball, track & field, x-country, and tennis.  I had a red belt in traditional taekwondo after I retired from competitive netball. And nowadays, I just practice lots of yoga, play weekly basketball and pickleball, and once in a while, netball and tennis.

 

My coaching philosophy is to be patient, and lay a good foundation for my athletes and clients. I also believe that there is an athlete in everyone and a better athlete in any athlete.

  • More than 20 years of playing experience for Sneakers Netball Club (1991 onwards)

  • Numerous Div 1 championship titles in National League with Sneakers

  • Captained Asian All-Star Team in an off season netball international invitational event led by Coach Hyacinth from Sri Lanka (2001)  

  • Winner for Singapore-Malaysia Test Series in U21 and Opens Team (1994-1997)

  • 4 national champion titles in school years or top 4 national finisher (1988-1992)
